Dear Friends,
We are adding a creative arts center to our programming! Here the children in our care will discover hope and healing through art, music, dance, movement, drama, mindfulness, and yoga. Students who are experiencing mental, emotional, and behavioral health challenges often struggle to learn in traditional classroom settings. Experiential learning through the creative arts has proven to be a successful alternative.
Through the creative arts, the children at The Bradley Center will explore their emotions through safe and positive creative outlets. Tish McAllise Sjoberg, an expressive arts therapist, has said, “Bring me your stress or challenge and I will offer you art. I will offer you the chance to play and relax. To paint, to dance, to sing, to write, to act…and through this…you will create change…in your life.” The creative arts are a powerful medium for growth and change, and an opportunity to build lives of possibility for the children at Bradley to become productive members of our community.
We are currently in the planning stages of this new endeavor, underwritten in part by a generous grant from Massey Charitable Trust. I look forward to sharing more with you as the creative arts center evolves.
With Gratitude,
Lisa R. Fox, CEO, The Bradley Center
