Our fifth annual A Gathering of Chefs event was a resounding success, raising over $150,000 for the children in our care. We truly would not have been able to do it without the generous donation of time, talent, and culinary masterpieces from all of the local chefs who participated.
We would like to specially thank Chef Martin Thomas, from Chartiers Country Club, who has acted as Coordinating Chef for the event all five years. With his help, we were honored to be joined by all of these incredible chefs who are committed to creating exceptional dishes and desserts using locally sourced ingredients. The benefits of locally sourced meats and produce are innumerable: it improves our regional economy, has more nutrients than non-local food, and preserves genetic diversity in our crops. Most importantly, however, local food just tastes better. Thank you, chefs, for making A Gathering of Chefs a premier event, and for forever changing the lives of our community’s most vulnerable children.
We were joined by: Chef Norman Hart CEC, CCE, AAC from the American Academy of Chefs, Chef Martin Lamarche and his wife Kristin from V&V Scratch Kitchen, Chef Stephen Varela from Valley Brook Country Club, Chef Bill Radder from Shannopin Country Club, Chef Ricci Minella from Brick N’ Mortar, Chef Amanda Wright from A519 Chocolate, Chef Samantha Hazel from Chartiers Country Club, Chef Andy Gauvain from Crave Frozen Desserts, and Chef Lisa Brown from Metz Culinary Management.
